From the initial thoughts, which were the start of the whole creative process on Lion’s Gate, to the very first notes committed to paper, this album became a new phase in Michał Salamon’s life:
(MS) It felt natural and spontaneous, while composing Lion’s Gate, not to include any words. The content and medium can be seen as the form of communication, but as a composer I prefer to use the language of sound, which gives me, as well as the listener, more freedom of interpretation.
This is an album about life or about the search for the light present in life. It is an album which says that when your mind rejects the limitations that have always been imposed on it, life becomes perfect in every way.

A very spacious and beautiful album, skilfully constructed and full of good ideas. Frankly speaking, I’m a bit jealous of Salamon as I would like to record one like it myself.

(…) They know exactly that silence in jazz, the creation of suspense, are equally as important as exuberant phases or a show of virtuosity. They also know that one of the noble characteristic of jazz is the ability to strike a dialogue and to listen to others. It is like starting a conversation (…)

Piotr Iwicki, Jazz Gazeta

CIRCUMSTANCES is fresh, modern jazz with elements of ethno and world music. The music of Quindependence goes beyond a hermetic environment and sounds spacious, as it was created on the basis of hours of improvisation and wide searches, not only musical. Its musical content was created through friendship, mutual passion, inspiration and the hard work of all the band members.

The compositions were written by Miłosz Skwirut and Michał Salamon.

Absolutely beautiful album, wonderful jazz played by the group of five musicians. It’s great jazz, where you can also hear great vocals.

Marek Niedźwiedzki from his radio broadcast Markomania.

Their original repertoire has a huge range of expression and their treatment of music is inspiring. I am convinced that they have a huge future ahead of them.

RalphTalmont, TEDxWarsawCurator.

Sound is about organising emotions in time – that is music. – this Manfred Eicher quote was adopted as the leading motto of the five musicians who, in 2010, formed FOURS Collective.

Their music is a remarkable mosaic of sounds, which to the listener opens up a space filled with light and emotions in the purest of forms. It is a never ending experiment combining sounds and genres that reaches the most sensitive parts of the soul of every listener. Drum & bass, classical, jazz, ethno, funk and electronic are included in the long list of genre influences, which have come together in creating the album Treezz.
